Prof Mandivamba (Mandi) Rukuni is currently the Director of the Barefoot Education for Afrika Trust (BEAT) whose purpose is to promote community based knowledge innovation for development. He is a former Dean of the faculty of Agriculture at the University of Zimbabwe in Harare, an experienced development analyst and strategist in several sectors including community development, business, finance, government, and education. Mandi heads a PhD program in Afrikan Leadership at the National University of Science and Technology (Zimbabwe) and is also an adjunct Professor at University of Africa (Zambia) for the same course. Over the last four years Mandi has devoted a significant amount of effort advising NEPAD, Africa Union Commission and UNECA on agriculture, especially CAADP, and on land issues in Afrika.
